INTERNACIONAL CONFERENCE, “Investor Education and Financial Behavior Conference”

On December 10th and 11th, the Securities Commission of Brazil (CVM) will promote, in Rio de Janeiro, the event "Investor Education and Financial Behavior Conference".

The initiative of the CVM investor education program, established in 1998, intends to discuss, with experts from different fields (neuroscience, psychology, pedagogy, economics etc) how education can influence effectively the financial behavior of citizens, helping them to independently manage their financial resources successfully and, in particular, their investments. The conference will bring together academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers as well as representatives of self-regulatory bodies to a plural debate allowing the advancement of CVM's educational agenda.

The event will be attended by other Securities Commissions and Brazilian self-regulatory organizations, in part reflecting the international collaboration that has been established around the topic within the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), in which was established recently, a committee to address this issue, jointly led by Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) ,Canada, and the CVM.
